About Hugh

Hugh qualified as a solicitor in 1993 after training with a reputable North Wales firm.


He has nearly 30 years’ experience of, almost exclusively, residential conveyancing and apart from a few years based in Cheshire has spent all of that time working in North East Wales, especially the Wrexham area.

Hugh specialises in the following areas:

  • Residential sales and purchases
  • New Build Purchases
  • Help to Buy/shared ownership
  • Leasehold sale and purchases
  • Equity Release
  • Transfers of property and deeds of gift

 

Hugh guides his clients through every step of the process and prides himself on always being available and if necessary, during out of office hours Outside of work Hugh looks forward to his annual skiing trip and is a member of a local badminton club. He is also making slow progress with learning Chinese Mandarin

About Brett

Brett joined the firm as a paralegal in July 2018 after completing his undergraduate degree at Aberystwyth University. Brett qualified as a solicitor in 2021 and became a partner in 2022.

Brett settled in the private client department and his practice area includes; power of attorney, court of protection, wills, trust administration, probate and estate planning. 

Brett enjoys rugby, golf, clay shooting and spending time with his family and friends.

About Michael

Michael is in the Shotton Office and deals mostly with non-contentious work such as Conveyancing [Private & Commercial], Wills, Probate, Tax & Estate Planning.

Michael has worked in Shotton since 1982. His work initially was general, and he dealt with mostly family, civil and criminal litigation.

He was a member of the duty solicitor scheme from its inception and sat on the local and regional committees, latterly as chairman of the regional duty solicitor committee which covered the whole of North Wales.

Following the retirement of the senior partner in 1992, he has concentrated more on non-contentious work such as Conveyancing [Private and Commercial], Wills, Probate, Tax and Estate Planning and general commercial work, although he does still go to court for selected clients in Criminal matters. He also deals with Licensing and other such matters.

When he has time he likes to paint and draw and walking the dogs.

About Glen

Glen Victor Murphy joined Cyril Jones & Co in 1986 as solicitor before being made partner.

Glen was articled and qualified as solicitor at a firm in Birkenhead in 1981 and thereafter joined Cyril Jones & Co in 1986 as solicitor before being made partner in 1988. He has, over the years had a wide and varied practice.

He has a keen interest in animal welfare and until recently prosecuted on behalf of the RSPCA.

Glen’s practice areas include conveyancing, probate and private client work.

Glen enjoys walking, gardening, calligraphy, cooking (but only at weekends) and proper English Beer accompanied by a whisky, and all things regarded as ‘Old Fashioned.’

His favourite pastime is looking after the garden and a bit of open top motoring in the Shropshire countryside.

About Caroline

Caroline went to University in Cardiff and obtained an LLB (Hons) degree before studying at the College of Law in Chester. Carline qualified as a Solicitor in September 1980.  

Caroline was a Partner in a local firm of Solicitors from 1982 until it closed in 2021.

Caroline joined Cyril Jones & Co in 2022.

Her main speciality has always been Family Law, but she has also carried out work in the areas of Probate, Wills, and Lasting Power of Attorney.

In her spare time, I love catching up with friends. Also, she is addicted to Crafting. One of her greatest pleasures has been making cards for various Charities.

About Sian

Virginia Sian Fisher has been practicing since qualifying as a Fellow CILEx in 1998.
She originally joined Cyril Jones & Co in 1992, and after a break of a few years she has re-joined the Practice.

Sian has an established client base and a wide range of experience in all conveyancing matters and also practices in preparing and advising on Wills, Probate and Lasting Powers of Attorney.

Sian is also joined by her long-standing assistant Rachael Jewkes.

About Amy

Amy qualified as a Solicitor in 2015 and recently joined our Firm in August 2023.

Since joining the firm Amy has settled into both Conveyancing and Family matters and is relishing the new challenge that these roles bring.

Amy enjoys travel, walking and spending time with family and friends.
