Why should you make a will?

It is the only way to be certain that your estate goes to the people you care most about, as well as protecting your loved ones and giving you peace of mind. It also may well save you money and is a tax-efficient way of giving money to charity.

What happens to the Will after it has been signed?

We can store the Will for you. We will give you copies, and this will ensure that the original Will does not get lost or damaged.

Do you just need to make one Will in your lifetime?

Not necessarily. The matter should be periodically reviewed. For instance, if you marry or remarry your old Will is automatically revoked.

What would happen if you did not make a Will?

You would be intestate and under certain circumstances your husband or wife may not receive most of your estate and if you have no surviving relatives your estate could, in fact, end up going to the Crown (in effect the Government). In addition, intestacy will only provide a minimum Inheritance Tax exemption and better estate and financial planning can be achieved through the making of a Will.
